Profylax course on Sunday morning and M suggested we should have some nice lunch somewhere. I was tired as usual and had planned to go home and have one of my daily naps, but the weather was nice so why not. Nap I could take after the lunch was finished.
After a lovely, outside, sunny (very parisian) lunch at Prinsen M said that he had read about this french place with nice interior in the airplane magazine. I'd been there myself a couple of times, but he said that would love to see it with his own eyes and suggested we have a coffee a bit later at that place.
We strotted around the streets and went into a lot of baby stores in the nice and warm daytime, looked at all the necessary things we need to buy now that the birth is starting to be close and also talked about how good and rewarding the Profylax course was. We both thought we could have plenty of joy from that during the severe contraction hours and the actual birth. Breathing correctly truly has an amazing impact on pain relief.
Anyhow, after an hour or so we steered our way towards Pont Nouveau (the place he wanted to visit) to grab a coffee and check out the french restaurant.
When I stepped into the restaurant, I saw one of my best male-friends a bit futher away. What a coincidence I thought and went to his direction to say hello... and almost died when nearly ALL of my best girlfriends, Mum and other female family members sat there and shouted SURPRISE!!!
I swear to God, my heart stopped and I did not get it at all. I just stood there for seconds that felt like hours and really didn't understand anything. In the middle of my heartbeat, I got an enormous contraction and suddenly I just started laughing. It was my babyshower and M had fooled me the whole day and was part of the surprise making of the plan. But my heart literally kept idle - but after a little while, I started to realise why everyone that is dear to my heart (females) was collected for me and little A in the belly; it was a very beautiful feeling.
It was truly amazing being so surprised, pampered and spoiled, to have them all there for me. They drank Champagne and we ate cakes and cookies and God knows what. I was so stunned that I only had half cup of coffee and a small bite of a cake I don't even remember the taste of. It took almost an hour to come back from the shock and start being myself again.
I had the typical handmade and lovely diapercake with all necessary creams, oils and stuff like that, ballons, small boy clothes from Burberry and Petit Bateau, a soft baby blanket from Ralph Lauren, small Armani things in light blue, a stunning mobile to hang in the roof with small airplanes in wood, another beautiful mobile to have above his bed and a wonderful, soft baby music box to hang in the pram with the same nice and sleepy melody as the mobile for the bed. I got his first english child book, books for me to read, a super cool wood bell for him in black and another one for his first time in life ... there was truly so many nice and thoughtful gifts! He is going to be a spoilt little boy and start his life with excellent taste and so many loving, warm, inspirational and awesome people around!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU - all you dear people! ♥
