So here is the story of Alexis' birth. In a very short version of course and with the parts I feel I would like to share with you. Rememeber that every birth is a very uniqe and a personal experience. This is parts of mine.
We went to the hospital early on Tuesday morning and he was brought to this world 20 hours later. The first 24 hours after his birth, I wasn't really able to take care of him because both me and Alexis weren't feeling that good. They tried to put him in my arms a couple of times but my weakness could't cope with his little weight at the time and I was far to dizzy to have the full responsibility. M took care of him a little, but most of the time he lay on a pillow next to me or in my armpit. But 24 hours later, in the middle of the night when M was sleeping, I suddenly recovered and for the first time I could actually see what this little boy looked like, felt like, behaved ... and let me tell you; the moment was SO big, I will never forget it. I was stunned by his presence, his neat little face and his big personality already in the first hours of his life. He went straight in to my heart and the love for him grows every minute that passes. I just want to be close to him, smell him, get to know him, love him and kiss him until the day I die.
After 10 more hours, with crazy labours we got the little baby out without no other pain releif than nitrous oxide (lustgas). I mean, the screams that came out of my body during the birth labours was from another planet.
But then both me and him needed some help so I saw him for a couple of seconds only and then the pediatricain and M went away to make little A feel good. I also got help in the meantime.
