the beginning of the film were Nicole and Tom are both at home. She is wearing simple cotton top, hair in a careless coiffure and in her reading glasses while she is helping the children. Tom walks around in his underwear and they are just doing things at home while preparing for an elegant night at a bal.
They fight about small things, talk, kiss, put the kids to bed and making sure that the babysitter knows what to do. They start to dress up really nicely and they attend this fancy yearly event and the conclusion is that it actually feels like two different films from then on. Two different lives. The "at home" where they both parents, everyday husband and wife and a few seconds later something switches and they are this excellent couple, mingling in their "social life"with a glass of champagne in their hands.
At the moment I feel like living in the middle of two or three different subworlds and the differences between them are so surreal.
Saturday was exactly like in the film. Me running around in my cotton nightgown until far to late for that kind of bedtime clothing, with messy hair and reading glasses while trying to take care of Alexis. I tried to prepare for the big wedding/party with all the clothing, getting the gift ready and at the same time making sure that my parents got all of the "going to bed" routines. Between trying my different high heels on, I showed them where the pumped milk was stored in the freezer, talked to M and helped him with his cufflinks. I saw myself in this chaotic situation breastfeeding in lace underwear and fixing my hair. At a moment Alexis was crying and in the middle of everything I tried to paint my nails and choose what jewelry to wear from the wonderful jeweler who I wear master pieces from on rare occasions. We were so much parents, leaving our reality for an evening in another world so far apart part from who we are nowadays. But the contrast couldn't be sharper.

The wedding turned out to be even better than the high expectations I think everyone had on this beautiful couple with stunning taste and massive hearts.
