this excellent series is what kept me up until the early morning. I think I managed to drink one liter of cold milk and eat at least three of these golden delicacies with buttery almond paste and raisins inside. Christmas time at its best.
(This is more or less the recipe I followed, but I chose to use less flour, add raisins to the dough and used four packets of saffron instead of two. Because I like a distinct taste of that red beauty and also like the dough to be creamy and sticky. In my experience, the rolls tend to get more juicy when you do it this way).
