Good bye for now!

And so this wonderful stay in Stockholm has come to an end. I'm flying back with a sick little toddler, but hopefully he will sleep most of the time. This time the city offered a sunny but cold climate while my man assured me Zürich was blessed with the same sun, but 10 degrees more.
I've been seeing my dear friends, spent time with my lovely family, had different fashion related meetings and had time to get some practical and nice pregnancy clothes for a decent amount (which is more or less the only time I allow myself to buy these comfy t-shirts, leggings etc from the cheaper fashion chains). In other words, it's been a very efficient and good stay in all ways possible.
I do not exactly long to go back to Zürich, except to see M of course, but staying in my parents home and eating these long and talkative dinners, cuddling up in the sofa every night with a good film, it's such a life quality for me. And getting help with Alexis, I love it. But if the spring is already hitting my "other city", I truly look forward to be able to take Alexis to the park again without freezing to death, wearing my cashmere coats and just enjoying the warmer temperatures.
There's also a nice trip in ten days for only M and me to ... Florence! so If you have some nice restaurants, things etc we just can't miss, please share them with me!

(coat: Burberry, shades: Prada and heels and bag the same like in the posts further down, another great thing with coming back ... to my other shoes and bags!)

  1. Stina, Florence is such an amazing city!!! I spent New Years Eve (although not the nice, full of drunk people and no control of fireworks), but still, such a beautiful city. I just have one tip, that is to enjoy the atmosphere and beauty of Florence, try to find hidden places where to enjoy the most delicious of Italian food :) Can't wait to see all your pictures.
    Safe trip back "home" :)

  2. Italien är nog nästan enda landet där det är svårt att inte hitta god mat, men kolla upp La Giostra, gillade verkligen maten där. Ha det underbart på semestern! Eva

    1. Hi,

Yes, my mother and father in law are coming up from Geneva and watching him for us. This is more or less the first time I leave him during nights ...

  7. Yes you are beautiful in this black coat dear Stina.
Florence is so romantic but from now (and for me) too many people which makes sometimes difficult to walk or to visit museums it's why I would not recommand my addresses that should have changed since I have been. But the area (Toscane) very near is so beautiful that I prefer.
There are fabulous 5 stars hotels. But sure that M knows where to go....
    Warmest regards

  13. P.S. Concerning Florence. I forgot to mention that we were at the Hotel Lungarno(/belonging to Ferragamo) in front of the Arno. Beautiful view and quite design inside. I loved it at the time.

  14. Hey Stina!

There is something I would like to know...do you fly business or economy class? Or even first class? which is your favorite airline?

    Love

    1. Lisa,

I fly normally economy with a baby and short distance. I think the price for Business and First is ridiculous and only worth when flying very far away.

    Dear Stina

Florence is one of my favourite cities! Don't miss one dinner at two very nice Trattorias. One is called ''Quattro Leoni''. Always great food, nice crowd and friendly service! (via de Vellutini 1r, Piazza della Passera).
Second is ''Vini e Vecchi Sapori'' (via dei Magazzini 3r). Exceptional!!
Of course there are a lot more, but i had there a great time, so I hope you too! Have fun with your hubby!

  17. I love Florence too. I spent two weeks wandering around it, trying to avoid the worst crowds and the Florentine drivers and admiring paintings, churches, sculptures etc. Don't rememember where to go anymore it was too many years ago. Be aware, Florence is very popular with tourists, thus it is not impossible to eat badly (stay away from the beaten track). Best is to ask the locals. In my opinion, in Italy you seldom dine the best at the most expensive restaurants but in small trattorie and osterie that just the locals know about. Based on my old memories, I would recommend you to share a fiorentina on the hills above the city. Eat "trippa" in the streets (beware, the sauce may dirty your clothes and hands, or bruschetta with duck liver pate (not sure whether you can enjoy these delicacies while pregnant, though). Learn why Florentine streets have double numbering (black and red house numbers) and read up on the Pazzi conspiracy. If you need a break from the city, hit the Tuscan countryside. Florence hides so many treasures, you are lucky to go there!

    1. Thank you for this well informative text!

I very often think the same, that the locals knows where the best places are hidden.

we're going to Tuscany the week after and staying in a beautiful house!

  18. Hej!
