Tuscany - rainy weather

I'm so happy that we took the decision to drive down to M's childhood friend's summer place in Tuscany after all. The forecast showed rain all of those five days and on top on that, our new car broke down at 04.00am in the early morning (we decided to drive so early to prevent the huge amount of traffic) when we had just driven out of Zürich full with packing, a tired Alexis, a dog etc etc and we had to be picked up by a tow truck to towing us back to a safe place. Not the best of starts.
I felt so sorry for my man, but the only thing to do was laugh about it and finding other solutions. Finding a rental car during Easter proved to be impossible, but finely we got a mini Fiat punto (with a very slow engine) through the garage where we left the car. So we arrived about ten hour later then planned and to a rainy Tuscany on top of that. But luckily we had a wonderful crowd of people waiting for us and during our stay the weather got better and better.
Just to be outside in the nature ... Ohh it gives us all so much strength and pleasure. Despite of weather actually. With the right choice of clothes, it can be done anyhow and who doesn't love more or less everything Italy has to offer?

  1. Well Stina your story is too complicate for me now!! and even you spent few love's days to Florence why to return to Tuscany as you were there already, look strange when we know how it's difficult at Easter time to diculate.? You could have choosen to go to Florence alone with M another time in this case. May be I did not understand all.....

    1. Hi,

Because Alexis was still in Zurich and we needed to go and fetch him, plus, M needed to go up and work for a couple of days.

  12. LOVE the story! Laughing out loud. Real sh*tty when you're in the situation, but those things are what makes life memorable and fun to look back at afterwards :-D
And about the weather... I don't think that I've seen such bad spring weather in Switzerland since I moved here in 1999. But as they say - it can only get better! ;-)
