My love turning older ...

What a weekend! Filled with the best of life! Family, surprises, good food, kids, nature, flowers and friends. I've said it before and i'll say it again and again. I feel so blessed being able to share our life between so many different "homes". It really puts life in a different dimension and I can't wait to spend some proper time in our fourth home in South of France this summer and later on, in our fifth home, at my parents country house which both are miles width from each other, but offer different kind of beauty and cosiness.
The whole purpose this time for the stay in Geneva, was my man's birthday. He though we would have a easy family dinner in peace and quite, but the day after we had arranged a surprise garden party for him as I wrote about before. We had invited friends from different places and cities, ordering the cake, fixing the decoration and M's parents had been cooking the food and prepared what I couldn't, being in Zürich.
So this is some pictures from the warm and lovely party, which turned out even better then we hoped for. The people are so wonderful and it was a laid back, fun, kid-friendly and just perfect environment and we even had luck with the weather which is so important when being outside.
M was so touched and so happy and humble, It was a joy to give him this day filled with some of the best of people. Later that night we gathered some friends and drove into the Geneva city to eat at the Pizza institution Da Paolo. They have the best pizza I've ever had and If you're around, you can't leave without going to this superb place and indulge yourself. When I drove home I was almost falling asleep in the car, and after this weekend I'm very tired but it was so worth it! Happy Birthday again my Love and THANK YOU everyone for helping, keeping the secret and for coming!!!

  6. Hi Stina,

What lovely photos! I really enjoy your blog. It's so inspiring.

One thing I have to ask you though, is how you do you feel about wearing such expensive and lovely designer clothing around company who do not? I noticed in the photos that you were the best dressed and everyone else seemed to be wearing quite casual(I'm assuming non-designer) clothes. I find myself in similar situations with my husband's friends too. They are quite casual and sometimes I feel uncomfortable with my chanel bag, burberry coat, etc.

I'd like to know your opinion on this.

Please do keep the photos coming. They are divine! And little Alexis is just precious!

    1. Hi!

Well, it's true I might be on the more dressy side of all different occasions in life, it's because I love it and I need it, it's very normal for me and doesn't take much longer time then wearing something I would find boring.

The weather this day was very unreliable and I think people didn't know what to wear because of that?! Never the less, people were casual and comfy and that's what matters. when I've seen these people on more outspoken parties, they've all been more up dressed!

I had bought this dress some time ago, and even though it was quite chilly, I decided to wear it because I know M would love it!

If I'm attending somewhere, and I know that people will be more dressed down, I will not turn up all dressed up, then I wouldn't feel comfortable myself. But you can always wear something that is thought through, in cut, materials and look even if it's on the more laid back side of an outfit. I nice fitted pair of jeans, a stylish sweater or top, a nice pair of boots or ballets and a perfect bag - works very long!

      Thank you for the comment!

I wonder, do pregnant women in central Europe, like your friends drink a glass of wine or champagne at these occatsions? Are the alcoholic traditions/habits/rules different?

    1. Katti,

No these did not, but yes, the cultural differences is present in what they eat and drink. Many has no problem of taking a glas of wine if it's small. I can have a small zip sometimes if we eat some delicious meat for example and M open a nice bottle. But not more.

Most pregnant women tend not to be so interested in alcohol during pregnancy and I can totally identify myself with that feeling. But i do long so much to be able to have a nice glas of wine, a GT or something else. You have no idea!!!

      Best,
      stina

    2. Ha, ha.... But I do have an idea as I am also pregnant (8th month) and I also long for a glass of champagne a lot :) Soon we will have them!

Thank you for the reply. Interesting to hear about the cultural differences between us in Sweden and central Europe.

  21. The canon 5d mark iii is far better
at high ISO than the Nikon D4, period. Canon cameras are the
loved of millions of photographers who want to
explore more sides of photography. Compared to the standard prices of camcorders, a
    DSLR holds its own.
