Evening makeup

So ever since this post, I've promised to tell you how I did that evening makeup. That me, moi, Stina will give makeup tips is almost funny, because my makeup is so simple and I've been putting it on in the same way, almost with the same products since I was 18 years old. But here we go:

I use daily:
- A mineral powder from Bare Minerals. I just blush it on super lightly, not to cover at all, more to even out.
- A mineral blush from Bare Minerals to get some colours on the cheeks.
- A mascara, preferably from Maybeline.
- A lip pen and lipstick. These ones from Helena Rubenstein and Chanel.

That's it. It takes five minutes at most to apply.

Sometimes in the evenings, i just add:
- A creamy eyeshadow in dark grey from Chanel on the whole eyelid.
- (and more mascara!)

For the nails:
- A bascoat and a nice colour from Chanel and I take them off with the Chanel remover.

That's it!
What do YOU use, any other tips to share with me or my readers? For example, which is the absolute best nail colour brand? I like Chanel for how it looks in the package, but honestly I think YSL is so much better and sticks for longer. I hate when it starts to go of after two days. OPI is good, but my God the package is so boring.
But let me hear your opinion!!!

  1. Hi Stina,

    thank you for your tips.
For the face I use a tinted moisturizer from Benefit (You rebel) which I personally think it's perfect because it makes a natural, even complexion without looking all spackled up. For the eyes I use eyeliner and mascara (Helena Rubinstein and L'oreal are the best, I think) and sometimes some blush (Clinique). I am not so a fan of lipstick and lipgloss, so I use Chubby Sticks (Clinique), light and soft, I actually have them in nearly every colour. In the evenings I sometimes use a highlighter stick by Shiseido which is great and lasts forever.
When it comes to nailcolour, I am a huge fan of O.P.I. because they have the nicest colours. My favourite at the moment are "O.P.I. on Collins Ave", "Hot&Spicy" and their all time classic "Big Apple Red". But of course the Chanel package is much more nicer.

Enjoy South of France and have a nice weekend!

  2. I love the Channel nailvarnishes for the exciting colours but the quality is awful! Sometime it come off the same day if painting my nails, even with a base and top coat...

  4. Hi dear Stina,

For nail polish I must say that OPI is best, even though Chanel comes in the nicest package!

I also don't like to wear much make up but I LOVE paint pot from MAC which is supposed to be used under eye shadows but I use it just to lighten up my eye area and it works really well.

    Best regards,

  5. I use Bare Minerals too, it gives such a light lovely finish to the skin. What shad of lipstick do you use? I tend to use the same things all the time too.

  6. Hi Stina!

My all time favorite mascara is from Estée Lauder Double Wear, It does everything for your lashes, I have tried other mascara's but they perform always much much less for me! Even very expensive ones like Dior.

The terra cotta bronzer from Guerlain is also a daily-use. I am quite pale, but this bronzer just gives my face a natural glow, like i've been sun bathing, for a more 'sun-kissed' effect I usually go for my DiorSkin NudeTan.

Last but not least I always use Chanel for a blush, and I also bought the complementary blush brush, which makes the application very easy. The colors just really suit my skin and I love how they blend these classy perfumes into the blushes which makes applying them always fun as the smell is just so chic and sophisticated!

Love your blog! it's always a pleasure to read your daily posts!

  7. Evening makeup... or: Confessions of a Natural Beauty ;)

I love your "less is more" attitude! It matches your typical perfect classy look

I use Bobbi Brown products. They are great for a natural look. Or YSL eye shadow for the evening.

    Which sunscreen do you use?

  8. I am in love with the "protecting and bronzing sun powder" from Carita. way better than Guerlain or Chanel in my opinion :)

Chanel Vernis looks great and YSL is simply beautiful, but all my nude colours are from Essie. For 10€ they are truly amazing, but their packaging isn't great at all.

    Thanks for sharing, Ulla

  9. To protect completely the face I used Avene whch is tinted and in a round box with a sponge. You look tan, you can go to sun without problem any. It's 50 and the exact name is HAUTE PROTECTION 50 tinted compact.
For the nails my manucure always uses OPI they all have this one but if I make myself ony CHanel, I like their very dark colours.
For make up only Sothy's foundation.
But as my skin is delicate I like la Roche Posay or Avene or not so much expensive creams. It could be Lancome that my skin bears also.

  11. I love Mavala (as well as OPI) because it's small and just the right amount not to bore you, because OPI lasts forever which can be tiring haha! My favourite is Mavala Los Angeles, just the right mix of orange and red, ouf!

  12. Hi there,
I do not use powder or foundation since my baby eats my face sometimes (I love his "bisous" :) ). But I put SPF moisturizer (Lumene), concealer (Neutrogena), mascara (Stila) and most important, brow pencil. The fuller the brows, the more intense the look is and it really appears like there's more makeup (but natural) there is. Hence no need to put color on the eyes or whole bunch of other stuff. I put pink on cheeks (forgot the brand but it looks like a really big lipstick... so practical). Most of the stuff I use doesn't require tools/brushes so I pack very easily when I travel.

No one mentioned ESSIE nail polish? I like the jars, they look like candies and there's millions of colors. Shopping for a new one is the most fun. They hold really well (at least on feet i know for sure). I sometimes do OPI gel manicures because that doesn't chip EVER, it just grows out... Otherwise, on hands, I always do clear polish.

  14. Interesting to read that also other people are not happy with CHANELs nailvanish...I stop using them, after moving to Italy and found KIKO, they have a range of colors - and off course a lot similiar to Chanels choice, and so much longer, to a price you can not belive.....

  16. Guerlain Terraccotta Bronzing Powder, Estee Lauder Sumptous Extreme Mascara, Mac Skin Finish Soft and Gentle and Kabuki brush :-) Everything worth recommendation. As well as OPI and Essie nail polishes. Butter London has fantastic colors as well.

  17. Nobody seems to use foundation? I love Chanel Aqua Lumière foundation, which is very light, but fantastic for my dry skin, Chanel concealer, blush and lipstick "Rouge Coco" or Rouge Coco Shine", YSL Pressed Powder Radiance, Rubinstein mascara and Chanel and Essie nailpolish. My favourite facecare is Kanebo Sensai or Ligne St Barth. That´s it ;-)

Wish you a wonderful and recreative time in France! B.

  18. I also use mineral make-up, but mine are from Youngblood. Haven't tried Bare Minerals, but I guess it's quite the same. I totally agree with what you wrote about using make-up to even out, instead of covering your face. I use a blush and some black mascara and a neutral lipstick or shine- that's my daily routine. For evening make-up I add some eyeshadow, eyeliner and lipstick. When it comes to nail polish I use Chanel(Rouge noir and Dragon are my favorites) and Essie when I want to play with colors. Interesting to hear what other readers use. /sophia

  19. Hej!
