Bags, bags, bags

Since I became a mother, my style of clothing and accessories has as a "must", adapted to that lifestyle. It's easy to think from the beginning that you will continue just the same as before, and maybe that will work for a couple of month, half a year, when the baby is just new born but as soon as there is more movement and the child grows bigger (running around, needing more stimulation) you realise quite fast that your clothing's, bags, shoes, hair, nails, makeup - all needs to develop in the same way to make life more easy going, less stressful and most important of all, more practical!

With that said, I will firmly stand by the thought that you still can look flawless and amazing if you want too, but probably with less heels and less time in front of the mirror. Things just needs to work their job more efficient and that demands more preparation and planning of you. Buy things that helps you with that job, instead of complicate things!

So to the picture of this evening. These bags all represent motherhood for me because they are practical, has room for a diaper, baby wipes, bananas and all necessary things when you have children. They can all easily hang on the pram if one wants their hands free and some even come with a strap for hanging over the chest when you want both hands free. I love my Hermés bags to the sky, but they are not made for toddler life and pram life. The same with a lot of my most treasurable bags, they keep standing in my wardrobe for those precious moments when I have some time for myself (let's see ... last time was in beginning of June ... ).

Now I'm actually looking for a new bag, something in black or black and something else. Something that will suit my lifestyle perfectly but still be chic, elegant and useful. We'll see If I find something soon, if you have any suggestions - please put the link in the comment field!

    1. Hi Annelie,

I've tried the Trapeze bag from Celine since I think it looks very nice (boring that Celine is so common now though) but it's extremely heavy!

    2. I never tried it, just went with how it looks. You don't need a heavy bag right now, you'll gave enough weight to carry ;-) hope you find what you are looking for xx

  2. Céline Trapeze. Small strap, long strap and comes in black+almost any other color and is able to hold diapers, bananas etc. ;)
Wish you all the best for little L's birthday! Can't wait for all your new stories. You are so inspiring and positive!

  3. Great bag collection. I love the Chanel in particular. So many people like the lambskin, but I just adore the caviar, I love the look. Not to mention, it's durable and worry free. Gucci do some great large bags, the Jackie O style is gorgeous, and quite child friendly I think.

    1. Great choices Stefanie,

I love them all actually and the Le Dix in black vintage leather with silver hard wear is the one that I almost bought the other day from the winter collection. Balenciaga is also a little to common, but still, i love the shape, the look and how you can just toss it around.

I haven't had a Mulberry bags since high school but I will definitely check up this one in reality1 Great choice!

    1. Don't take this personally, but I hate that model. Probably it's me who is crazy because I know it's very popular, but I actually think it's one of the most boring bags their is. Very practical though, that I can understand. my loss probably!

Thank you for a very thought through suggestion though!

  9. Yes it's a very good idea the Jypsiere because you can put it through body and you have quite a lot of place, I always travel with one of them (beige, or black, or orange or jean's blue). I forgot. They have them in all colours.

  10. Hello Stina,

oh I love the wallet on chain... last wednesday I visited the Chanel Store in Frankfurt but they did not have it. Hope I will be able to get one soon.

I can recommend the Chanel Executive Tote (some also call it Cerf Tote). I think it looks very elegant but you can also wear it with the shoulder strap and it is very spacious. I bought it in May this year and I love love love it.

Another nice bag is the LV Speedy Bandouliere, you can wear it across your body or by hand / ellbow / shoulder, the strap is very variable. (But I saw on previous pictures that you already have a "normal" Speedy, so I think you already know this bag).

    1. Yes the Cerf Tote is a good choice also, maybe too classic at the moment but I like it's simplicity and it seem to come with a strap if needed.

Have you seen the WOC in light blue for the autumn? Beautiful!

    2. Yes, I saw it, but unfortunately not in real, only in the Internet. It is really really beautiful... Is there enough room in the WOC for the things like phone, keys etc.?

  11. Just get something really light. When you are carrying babies all the time your shoulders are more important than fashion!

This bag I find is both stylish, practical and is a bit edgy! (also I dont think it isn´t that sensitive)

  16. Why did you buy a bag with snake skin? You probably didn't see the horrible news program about how they skin the snakes alive in asia. it was the most awful news images i've ever seen probably.

all my girlfriends vowed after that to never buy anything with snake skin or aligator skin after that... i was just surprised that you had one like that since i think i've read that you're an animal friend..

  22. Hello!
I haven't seen the Hermes Lindy mentioned - then I would recommend it! The design is special, it's super comfortable on the shoulder, long enough straps to go over the pushchair and can be handheld. Even the 30cm size is spacious enough for travel with pockets inside and at both ends. Some find the opening fiddly but most often I don't zip up, just close the external clasp. I think a black exterior with a contrast lining inside would be wonderful.
All the best of luck with your choice.

  23. Stina, you put my thoughts into words! this is exactly how it is when you are a mother, you need to re-think your wardrobe and choices. i love how you can look amazing, play with your child, stay practical without compromising your style. thanks for yet another inspiring post!! ( Since I have a 10 month year old girl, I would love to read more about keeping in fashion while running around after an adorable little toddler)

  24. The Balenciaga bag looks amazing :) You should get one more in another colour.

I have thought about getting the WOC, it looks very elegant with the long chain, compared to my current Chanel 2.55 Classic Flaps in Medium and Large, they look very "boxy" when I'm wearing them cross-body :D So I really need a smaller one that I can take with me to lunch or dinner. Does the WOC fit credit cards, a powder compact, keys, iPhone and lipgloss well? I'll be travelling to France in a couple of weeks so I could get one while I'm there, but haven't decided on the colour combination yet though.
