A few days ago

For all of you readers living in Stockholm, you can clearly see that this picture was taken a couple of days ago since it rained here throughout yesterday. The mild and tempting indian summer was still smoothing us with temperatures around 25 degrees and long, beautiful evenings, made for kisses and cosy moments. I wore my new Stella McCartney skirt in a creme coloured, hard plissé and crepe finish with really interesting details which this photo does not show at all. I'm not very fond of my choice of shoes on the picture and the fact that I matched it all with black socks, but I have only 15 percent of my closet with me here, the rest is still in Zürich so I had not much of a choice. We had so many errands to run so my black Fendi heels and bare legs did not feel as appropriate for that day.

  1. I think this is such a pretty look and really love the boots and socks, it's more out of the ordinary and quirky yet really stylish.

  2. Great picture of you guys.! :)

I love the skirt, even though the photo might not do it justice, it still looks great, and I actually think the shoes are a good choice. The brown makes for a nice color 'pop' and it matches the creme colored skirt.
    You look gorgeous!

  11. Dear Stina,

Thanks for the great blog. I have a question, I hope you don't find it too personal or intrusive. I am also interested in the views of your readers on this topic.

We were all very impressed by how you maintained your beauty and femininity during your pregnancy with Leon into after delivering. I follow your blog and I feel inspired to pay more attention to how I dress.

I am curious about your philosophy on looking good (dressing nice/feminine, getting dolled up, styling hair...)I know you said before that now as a mother you have to be minimalist in your style because you have less time, but you still look so well put together, feminine and chic (even though the photos are only a small percentage of what you wear in your day to day life... maybe on some days you dress down).

Because I am very lazy myself (teeheehee) I am always impressed by women like you who make the effort to look good/dress nice. I guess my question is, why do you do it? I have heard my friends say that it contributes to their mental well-being ('I feel happy and confident when I know I look good') and this happiness spills over into our life (our relationships with other people e.g. our husbands are happy to see us looking good, we have more positive relationships with other women because we do not feel envious about their good looks...)

What advice would you give lazy women like me (teeheehee) who only shower and brush their teeth, on how to be more feminine and to bring out their beauty?

    Thanks xoxo

    1. Dear You,

Thank you very much, maybe reading this will give you some answers:

      http://www.featherfactor.com/2012/12/interview-with-stina-auer.html

I do it for myself mostly, because it's a part of who I am and it's always been like that. For me it does not take more effort of choosing something nice to put on, then the opposite.

With my makeup and hair though, I'm like you. It takes at most 10 min to get it together. That's why I also have it in a knot most of the times, and only blow dries the fringe. If you take care of your skin, you wont need that much makeup but I always wear mascara, lip colour and colour my eye brows (at home) every 2-3 weeks since I am so blond else.

When I am home though, I always walk around in comfy clothing's and I am no sexy mama running around in lace lingerie (sorry dear M of mine).

Hope it answered some of your questions!

      best,
      stina
