Lake Lugano - Switzerland

I just love this place so much, if we would move back to Switzerland, this is where I would love to stay. Lugano, just a minute from Italy, Como and everything else of perfection in this world. This is the Italian part of Switzerland where life is so much more filled with joy, passion - just more south I guess but still things works and looks good like in the country of order.
It's so majestic with the mountains and the lake, it literally feels like something taken from a fair-tale book of mystery and beauty.
We went here (I've been here four times before) and meet up some dear friends and had dinner in one amazing restaurant Ill never forget. It was food orgasm in my mouth and even though it was simple and not so expensive at all, actually the cheapest place we've eaten at during our trip, I just never wanted to stop eating. We had it recommended from a good friend of my man and yes, he was right. The food was just so perfect. We stayed at a small hotel, family own and woke up to the view shown with the lake just above our window. I can't help thinking that something is lost when you don't have this nature every day ...

  2. Lugano is now completly German.... Unfortunately! because before it was how you described it Stina.
I am living there and even the "menu" are written in German..... As you are Swedish it may have not chocked you. But as a Swiss French person loving Italy and this beautifull little Siss italian town and lake, we are very upset of that.... Their mentality has changed by this fact.... Not in good. It's such a pity.
    Kind regards

  5. Very nice pictures and your man is handsome dear Stina. I like your short skirt better than the longer one or may be with something else with it than this black top. Well its my own appréciation, only....
Your room looks quite small but this hotel looks cute.
I agree with Chantal, Lugano is too much german now and not at all italian as before.i used to go there when a was a child with my parents. I think that your friend knew this restauraurant because the other ones are expensive as everything in Switzerland.! Anyway I am so happy to see your happiness with this roundtrip even it's very hot I think.
Anyway, we changed our plans to go to Cannes, too hot! We leave during next week for Deauville.
    Excellent continuation of your vacations.
    Big hugs

    1. Sounds lovely!

Yes it was a small hotel, not so nice, but cute and easy. This restaurant was actually located on the swiss side, but compared to all other places it was rather cheap and relaxed.

I wish you a pleasant stay!

      hugs

  6. Dear Stina, it looks amazing! Would like the name of the restaurant, but maybe it is a well garded secret? We have a lot of simililarities in our lives, that is why I continue to read your blog long after I tire of Others (that and the lovely fashion tips, thoughts and pictures etc.). My mixed family currently living in Stockholm is now eyeing Como as a possible next destination for our family! Great minds think alike, maybe?

  7. My impression is that the ticinesi have always been closer in mentality to the Swiss Germans than to the Swiss French. Been going there since I was small as I have a tax-evader in the family :) I don't agree it feels more German now (there is more tourism everywhere), but it feels more anti-Italian. Lots of tensions with Italy because of all the money Italians have hidden there and because of the Italian day workers. But they are always very nice to me when I speak Italian, more so than to my Swedish husband that speaks English or German. It may be that they appreciate politeness and I'm better trained at being polite than my husband is.

Anyway - I would recommend staying in Lugano to go shopping in Milano, it is actually not expensive compared to Milano and it's a nice compromise for couples if one prefers mountains to big cities.

  9. Thank you Stina for sharing your life and taking so many pretty pictures and inspire us all. You boys are so beautiful and your man is handsome! :)

    I love your blog!

Sad to see so much snoberism in the comments here about germans... (I'm Swedish) but I am happy to see your diplomatic responses to them. :)
